Avi Thaw travels in his work seeking the memory corridors (Venice Boater and Canal) to resound the senses abound. His expressions flourish as the joy of the stillness in the flutter of hummingbird’s wings. Memories explode uncontained reaching for absorption in the sky (Santa Maria). In sunny day we see Thaw’s intent is color, his conformity is the joy and serenity in brightness, and efforts are to comb the vibrant reminiscences. He has threatened seasons to be frozen in the vividness of color and the boldness of pondering, and darkness to be illuminated by the flush of hue embossed in definite layer of his mind.
Avi Thaw uses unique blend of colors, textures and his travel experiences in the expression of art. Born and raised in Israel, his artistic talent was recognized at an early age doing his first show in an established gallery at the age of twelve. Avi says: ‘the only way to develop my own style was to break away’.
After moving to United States in 1985 Avi’s work steadily gained international acclaim. He was exhibited in US, Germany and Japan including in some of the well respected galleries such as Atelier Gallery, Merrill Chase Gallery, Ruth Mayer Gallery and others. His works are held in various private collections in USA.
